Chin Singers Visit Australia to Support Youths

Chin singers from Burma, Ms Chaw Su Khin and Sangpi are now in Australia, entertaining at gospel concerts and visiting both Burmese and Chin churches as part of the programmes for encouraging youths to grow in Christian manners.
The Chin duo, invited by Sydney-based Burmese churches, have travelled cities in the south-sangpieastern parts of Australia during Christmas holidays since mid-December, according to the Chinland Today.
Pi Thang Dal, leader of Melbourne Burmese Community Church (MBCC), said it was such a pleasure to have received two well-known Chin singers in Australia during school breaks when most teenagers would normally go out doing nothing.
"We invited to Melbourne to sing gospel songs at a Christian fellowship organized for two nights, with one in the east and another in the west," added Pi Thangi.
chawsukhinThe two singers wowed more than 500 people at a Christian concert held in Adelaide, according to the Chinland Today.
Sangpi said he was much encouraged by the unexpected turnout as he thanked the organizers of each event so far during their ongoing visit.
In October this year, the Chin Christian Council in Australia (CCCA), a new umbrella body of Chin Christian committee was formed in Melbourne in an effort to strengthen relationship and collaboration.
It is estimated that there are more than 4,000 Chins living in Australia, most of them being resettled as refugees from Chin State, Burma under the UNHCR resettlement programme from India and Malaysia. Source: Chinland Guardian
